Phonics Scope and Sequence
Have you ever bought a book that claimed to be an early chapter book for beginning readers, only to have your blossoming reader become frustrated or start guessing at unfamiliar words? That won’t happen with this series. Sue offers one of the clearest scope and sequences that I have found for decodable readers. In addition to the scope and sequence chart on her website, each book also includes a detailed list of phonics skills included in the beginning pages. Teachers and parents can quickly look over the list to ensure that their students or children will be able to decode the words featured in each book.

The series will grow along with them, as they progress to reading words with blends, simple two-syllable words, and silent e words. My only wish is that there were more titles at each skill level to keep pace with growing readers. Fortunately, it sounds like Sue is already one step ahead.
